I’ve definitely been on a journey with my changing skin since I hit my thirties. I’ve talked about it more and more on this blog space, recognizing how quickly my skin reacts to the products I put on my body as well as the foods I eat. In addition to finding solutions to prevent breakouts, I’ve also been trying new products to help with eczema and phases of dry skin.

Skin issues are both tricky and frustrating. I’ve struggled with eczema for most of my adult life, but it definitely flares up on my upper arms when I travel and am exposed to different soaps and water. Recently, I added Palmer’s® Cocoa Butter Formula® Skin Therapy Oil to my routine to prevent extreme dryness. I use a few drops on my arms after I shower when my skin is still fresh. I love that it’s hypoallergenic and both paraben and phthalate free. As I’ve transitioned towards cleaner beauty, I really pay attention to a clean ingredient label.

A few of my other tried and true tips for avoiding dry skin flare ups: As hard as it is, limit your time in the shower to 5 or 10 minutes. I love a long, hot shower as much as the next gal, but standing in hot water for a long time just dries out your skin, especially if it’s combined with irritating soaps. Avoid using so much soap that you create a thick lather… You need to preserve those natural skin oils! And it should go without saying, drink lots of water! Your skin is your largest organ and needs H2O and moisture.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Oil also helps with reducing scars, stretch marks, and dark spots. I’ve been using this on a cooking scar on my hand and it has helped heal and reduce the scar over time. And it’s always great to find clean label beauty products in my local drugstore or Amazon.
