I thought about naming this post layering for shorties, but I realized my theory on layering probably applies to everyone regardless of height. No height judgment here, folks. A reader emailed me saying that as a shorter individual, layering is a challenge. You add more layers and then end up looking like a toad. I feel you. So, I stick with thinner fabrics and lightweight materials to keep things streamlined. Sometimes trying to layer over or under a super thick and cozy sweater makes you look, well… thick. No thanks. So stick with pieces that are flexible, can be buttoned or left open, and if all else fails just add a scarf. #putascarfonit

I love that you put the jacket over the sweater – too cute! I wish it was cool enough to layer clothes here!

Thank you SO much! There’s a lightweight boyfriend cardigan in my future. I think it will be a versatile layering piece this winter.
This is such a great chic & classic outfit! I love the light layers – wished it was a bit cooler so I can wear some layers.
P.S. I hope you will join TBT Fashion link up this Thursday.
