Life Lately

Everlane Oversized Alpaca Crew Sweater (wearing a small) // Abercrombie Maxi Skirt (old, but similar here) // Converse Sneakers // Everlane Day Market Tote

I unintentionally took a little break from blogging and social media over the last month. I finally went to visit my mom after 6 months (yay!), have been incredibly busy with work and just wasn’t feeling creative to publish new posts on this space.

We’re all going through something right now – big and small. I’ve definitely hit 2020 fatigue and frankly, the world feels terribly uncertain at the moment. Everyday I put my best foot forward, stick to my healthy routine and power through with a positive attitude. But man, it just feels like we are riding wave after wave of uncertainty at this point. Social unrest, COVID-19, climate change, the pending election, blurred lines between work and personal space at home… it’s a lot. And if you’re feeling tired, know that you’re not alone!

VOTE // Have you made your voting plan yet? I requested a mail-in ballot in Illinois and plan to physically drop off my ballot to Chicago Board of Elections at the drop box. If you can, vote early and drop off your ballot in person! Now is the time to use your voice for positive change!! The recent death of RBG was the extra push I needed to use my voice more strongly, donate and volunteer my time for the upcoming election. Now is the time to fight for the positive future of this country. (Also, just ordered this VOTE t-shirt that supports the ACLU!)

READ // I finished American Dirt which was beautifully written, although it felt heavy at times. Then I moved onto 28 Summers, a nice and fluffy summer read. I mentioned this on IG stories (I save all my book recos in highlights!) but I loved the first 50% of the book, and then I got so internally pissed and annoyed with the 2 main characters! If you’re read it and can agree, please message me. I need to discuss. Ha.

WATCH // I finally caved and started watching Selling Sunset on Netflix. It’s so ridiculous and possibly the most un-real ‘reality’ show, but it’s so silly and light and reminiscent of ‘The Hills’ back in the day that it’s nice to watch and escape for a couple hours in the evening!

SHOP // The first taste of fall has shown up in Chicago so I ordered a couple fuzzy autumnal sweatshirts from LL Bean for working from home or walking in the city. Love a fuzzy layer. Abercrombie also has some really cute sweatshirts right now.

I’ve been living in my joggers while working from home or will throw on a stretchy pair of denim and a relaxed, button down shirt to feel more polished for video calls.

For our 2nd Anniversary, Zak & I got each other these fancy Parachute robes since the traditional gift is cotton. We love them!

I also stocked up on Anthropologie spiced cider candles. Loooove burning them in the evenings at home – the best scent!

BAKE // My friend and I had a ‘Half Baked Harvest’ baking day and made these nutter butters and pumpkin butter cookies. I’m in the fall baking moooood! From pumpkin pancakes to my morning homemade pumpkin spice lattes, I’m embracing the changing of the seasons.
