Let’s be real – Adjusting back to a normal schedule after the holiday rush can sometimes be a shock to the system. Although I’m feeling refreshed and inspired to make this year better than the last, sometimes you need a few pick-me-ups to avoid a post-holiday funk. Here are a few ideas to keep January fun and exciting.
One // Get organized. As a self-proclaimed neat freak, I love starting the New Year with a clean slate. Put away the Christmas décor, de-clutter a room and donate some items from your closet.
Two // Master a new recipe, or two. I’m happy to report I’m 4 days strong with my no desserts for January resolution, so there’s a win. Since I’m trying to avoid dining out this month, I’m hoping to be more diligent with meal planning and experimenting with new recipes. We just ordered our first Blue Apron delivery, so I’m looking forward to being inspired to try new meals at home.
Three // Plan something to look forward to. Sometimes it feels like a bummer when all the holiday parties are past, so January is a great time to plan a game night with friends or a little weekend getaway.
Four // Get dressed up. I’m not always ready to put away my lace, plaid or sparkly clothes after holiday festivities, so I make it a point to incorporate some favorite pieces into more casual outfits for the start of the New Year. Fancy casual.

Great ideas! It can be so hard to get into routine after the holidays, but I’m feeling so ready!
