Baby, it’s cold outside. Freezing. Frigid. And all I want to do is lie on the couch in my sweatpants with a mug of hot chocolate and watch re-runs of Sex and the City. (Anyone feel me?) Although that sounds like a lovely use of my time, I have recently been turning off the television and turning on my kindle. When I am stuck inside enjoying the heat, why not cuddle up with a good book? Here are a few of my favorite recent reads…
1. Bossypants by Tina Fey: This hilarious autobiography had me laughing until I had tears streaming down my face. I had to put it away while on a flight because the gal sitting next to me was starting to stare as I tried, and failed, to keep in my laughter.
2. Grace: A Memoir by Grace Coddington: Vogue’s longtime creative director tells a dishy story of her life from being a young model to working with Anna Wintour at Vogue. I found her story to be very intriguing, especially the evolution of the fashion industry from her point of view.
3. Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? By Mindy Kaling: Mindy’s witty and on-point observations on men, best friends and family had me laughing and also nodding in agreement. A light, quick and funny read.
4. Lessons of a Lipstick Queen by Poppy King: A great read for any passionate, entrepreneurial bloggers out there! Poppy’s lessons are simple, but it was interesting to follow her story of launching a successful line of lipsticks at age seventeen. An inspiring and light book.
How about you? Have you read any great books lately? I would love to add some to my “to read” list!
