Coffee With Jaclyn No.2

First of all, look at me blogging 3 days in a row! Who am I?! Second, I had every intention of these “Coffee with Jaclyn” posts being a monthly series but I haven’t done one since May. You win some, you lose some. Anyway, I’ve compiled a list of reader and friend questions from the last couple months to share the knowledge. Hope you enjoy and feel free to email me your questions!

I’m looking for cute fall ankle booties for under $150 (preferably closer to $100). Any recommendations?

Oh man, I’m a fall boot hoarder. So many good ones. Here are few favorites for ya – I’ve always loved these Sam Edelman Chelsea boots that are just under $100! Both tan and black are great. And these from Jeffrey Campbell are classic. And these buckle ankle booties from Target from a complete BARGAIN and very cute. My favorite booties that have lasted me years are from Madewell, naturally. I got a pair similar to these last year and I wear them constantly. Maybe snag them when they go on sale?!

I know you teach yoga classes, do you have a favorite yoga pant that won’t break the bank?

So, I know that Lululemon is pricey, but I must be transparent and say they are my favorite yoga pants and have lasted me for.ev.er. Like, the quality is great especially since I teach a heated class and sweat (a lot) and wash them constantly. Another, more affordable, brand I just discovered and tried on when I was in Boston is Outdoor Voices. These are also a great option with a comparable “hugged” feeling of the yoga pants. (I got the “TechSweat”).

Weird/embarrassing question…. How do you keep your teeth so white?

Um, NOT weird! These are the life questions I would be asking, too! Well, I’m an oral care freak. I have a Sonicare electric toothbrush (worth it) and I floss everyday. And I still wear my retainer at night from the 7th grade. (#sexy). I used a box of Crest Whitestrips before our wedding, so that helped a ton. But, no other secrets or tricks! Just good hygiene and I drink a ton of water throughout the day.

I’m in my thirties and looking to do a closet clean out to phase out some cheaper and trendier items and invest in new pieces to elevate my wardrobe. Do you have recommendations for higher quality work and weekend wear?

Everlane has been my go-to lately for classic, quality pieces that are affordable. I love their silk blouses for the office and their affordable cashmere crew sweaters. Club Monaco is another site I peruse when I’m looking for an invest piece, like this must-have blazer, seen here. A bit pricier, but something I will have for years to come. I also really like the Treasure & Bond brand at Nordstrom.
