Last summer I posted a full review of my favorite AGOLDE denim shorts and it remains the highest trafficked post on the blog! Why? Because these jean shorts have a cult following and are the MOST FLATTERING denim shorts out there. So nice, that I bought them twice. (In two colors, that is…)

How and why I became obsessed: The price point of these shorts had me avoiding purchase for awhile because I couldn’t understand how they were half the fabric and yet the same price as long jeans. I mean, come on! But in the name of research and endless stellar reviews I ordered them, because frankly I’ve never liked any shorts on my body. Turns out the hype is real. I wore them non-stop last summer and got endless questions and compliments.

From the first wear they fit like a perfectly worn pair of jeans that hit in all the right places. The bottom kinds of flares away from your thighs and somehow make your legs look thinner. Because miracles happen. Last year I ordered the Parker Vintage Loose Fit Cutoff Shorts in the color “Rock Steady” and wore them so much that this year I ordered a second pair in a slightly lighter wash called “Swampmeet”. Same fit, just a lighter wash.

How does the sizing run? I find they fit true to size. As the name would indicate, they are loose fit vintage shorts, so they are a smidgen large, but that’s intentional. Not enough to size down in my mind. I ordered my usual jeans size, a 27, which I would order in Madewell, Everlane, J.Crew etc. They sit mid-rise, a little higher than my hip bones. Also, for reference I’m 5’5 and I didn’t find them to be too short. They completely cover my bum.

Do they stretch? They are non-stretch denim. They are a soft cotton denim, but don’t have elastane. I’d say after 2-3 wears they kind of mold to your body a bit more. They just become more comfortable, but will not drastically stretch out.

Where can you buy them? Here’s the thing, these popular shorts sell out OFTEN. A few retailers that carry them and will re-stock – Nordstrom, Revolve, Shopbop & Bloomingdales

A quick side by side… Darker (left) = Rock Steady and Lighter (right) = Swampmeet
