Life Lately

Jonathan Adler Prozac Canister // Mimosa Candle

Well guys, we’ve hit the week before we went into lockdown in 2020. The last week many of us were in an office, the last week of starting to feel stressed, but thinking this would blow over in a couple weeks or months. Holy eff, a whole year.

I certainly have mixed emotions. On the one hand, it feels like we’re right back where we started a year ago. I have a deep sense of loss… Loss of time, loss of adventures and travel, loss of a carefree attitude. But then I’m also quite hopeful and feel lucky. We’re rounding the corner. Many of my loved ones have started getting vaccinated (yay!) and a taste of spring weather is started to break through. I’ve learned new skills, started new hobbies, read tons of books, deepened friendships, started getting down with yeast in the kitchen. There’s a phrase I never thought I would type.

If you’re still dealing with covid anxiety, I’m here to say you are not alone. I feel it. I’m with you. But, I also feel optimism about the future and hope you can find those moments of positivity, too.

SHOP // I went to visit my Mom in Florida after monthsssss and bought this tangerine sweater and these joggers for the trip. Highly recommend for spring! The sweater is slightly cropped and boxy, but super cute and soft. Both run true to size.

I also ordered these wide leg pants from Abercrombie which will be delivered this week. I’ll report back on the fit!

And because I live in sneakers in the spring, I just got a neutral pair of these Nike Daybreak sneaks. So cute!

RUN // My friend and I have still been running 3x a week to prepare for the (virtual) Shamrock Shuffle on March 20th. If you’re in Chicago and want to run, there’s still time to register!

WATCH // I’ve been in a bit of rut of new things to watch, but we’ve been watching Summer House on Bravo (total mind garbage, but funny reality TV) and started re-watching Schitt’s Creek for a bit of levity. And we watched the new Billie Eilish documentary on Apple TV which was SO good! Loved it.
