I took a week away from the blog and mostly stayed away from social media last week because I was just feeling ‘blah’. I was doing ok with my new routine for a while, but now it just feels like the summer is slipping away and I’m at home 90% of the time. So if you’ve hit coronavirus fatigue, I’m right there with you. Trying to do things to stay positive and motivated, but some weeks are better than others.

Overall, we’re still being very cautious. I’ve eaten out on a patio twice, but wasn’t totally comfortable and I felt like a lot of the ambiance and delight in eating at my favorite places was lost due to extra precautions. So, still a lot of ordering take-out, watching movies and staying on friend’s patios and porches for the time being.

I wanted to share a few new things I’ve been up to lately to keep busy…

ONE // Duolingo – I downloaded the duolingo app to start working on my German a little bit every day. My family (on both sides!) are from Germany and I wanted to brush up on my tiny bit of knowledge with daily ‘lessons’ on the app. I find them so fun!

TWO // Reading – I finished reading White Fragility and just downloaded American Dirt this weekend. I’ve heard great things from friends about the book, so excited to dig in.

THREE // Peloton – I still owe you guys a full Peloton review post, but I’m still using it daily and am excited to start the Pelothon this week! (anyone?!) Frankly I don’t know much about it other than you work out with your team and coaches every day, but I joined the #LegendsOfFun team. If you have the bike and want to follow along, my Peloton name is jcrabbe.

FOUR // Virtual Therapy – I’ve been doing some video therapy sessions lately to help with corona anxiety and it’s a nice outlet. Lately my ‘homework’ has been doing walking meditations, where I walk and take distinct mental notes of what is surrounding me to help stay grounded in the present moment rather than letting my mind wander to things I can’t control. I wish therapy was more openly discussed because it’s so helpful.

FIVE // Driving Range – Ummm I haven’t played a round of golf in 3 years, but I went to the driving range in the city and it was fun! Although I’m not great. Ha.

  1. No shame in therapy. I wish I had done it a long time ago.
