Refreshed & Radiant Skin

Without sounding overly dramatic, turning thirty has been an interesting transition for my skin.  I struggled with acne as a teenager, my skin cleared up in college and then all of a sudden in my late-twenties I started battling both adult acne and (gasp) wrinkles.  I’ve seen a handful of dermatologists in my day and currently use a topical prescription a couple nights a week to keep any acne at bay.

I try to consistently stick to a home skincare routine including my clarisonic, exfoliating and plenty of moisturizers, but I still feel like my skin was looking a little dull.  So I was very excited to visit The Skin Center Med Spa in Columbus.  They offer all types of brightening, scar removing and wrinkle prevention treatments.  And let me say, I’m into all of it.

I met with Heather Densky, a registered nurse and skin specialist, to get her recommendation on freshening up my skin and getting rid of those pesky wrinkles.  A microdermabrasion treatment left my skin feeling fresh and magical.  It prevents and helps treat acne, sun spots and enlarged pores while also refreshing your overall skin tone and texture.  There isn’t a home remedy that can compare to their in-office results and how radiant my face felt when I left.  And here’s something I never thought I would say at 31…  I got some Botox in my forehead.  I was incredibly nervous about this, but Heather reassured me she would be very conservative with the amount of injections just to ensure I liked the result and that it still looked completely natural.  And let me tell you, it.is.amazing.  Yes, any type of little wrinkles that were starting to settle in vanished after 3 days and my forehead is just so incredibly smooth.  I actually wear less makeup and powder now because it looks so even and smooth naturally.

My visit with The Skin Center was just what I needed to perk up my dry and dull winter skin.  And I’m definitely planning to go back for a brightening microdermabrasion treatment before our wedding.  Tell me – have you ever tried a professional skin treatment?
