4 Ways to Boost Your Mood

 

We all experience the occasional shitty week.  Sometimes nothing seems to be going our way and sometimes we are extra moody and sensitive for no reason at all.  I think due to the lack of sunshine and spring weather (take me back to the beach!) I’ve been feeling in a bit of a rut, lately.  I’ve been busy with work, wedding planning, teaching yoga, helping out family and I’m feeling a bit discombobulated.  So while I wait for warmer days to arrive and get my life a bit more organized, I’m focusing on a few tricks to boost my mood and get through those rough days…

ONE // Take a workout class – There is major payoff from getting in a sweat session with friends.  Even when I’m in a couch potato mood, I will push myself to a class and get those endorphins going.  It makes me instantly happy and increases my overall energy.

TWO // Put your phone away – I’ve been working to stay off my phone in the evenings when I’m at home spending time with Zak.  I’ll often leave it in another room so I’m not tempted to glance at social media.  Checking out always seems to keep my nerves calmer and stops the comparison game.

THREE // Get outside – If I’m a grumpy gus, just taking Potsie outside for a 15 minute walk while listening to some happy tunes will always boost my mood.

FOUR // Clean something – This may sound silly, but even if I clean a small area of our home I’ll feel better and more accomplished.  If I just vacuum or wipe all the countertops sparkly clean I feel like “Ok, I got this!”
