6 Quick Tips For A Smoother Week

Happy Monday! Even though I am willing to sacrifice an hour of sleep for extra daylight in the evening, Daylight Savings has me feeling a bit foggy.  I made it a point to get up at my normal time this morning and go to Flywheel at 7am followed by a matcha smoothie, but I’m still smidgen out of sorts.  If you’re fighting though the time change fog, here are a few tips to make your week a little smoother…

 

 

ONE // Make breakfast the day before

Having my smoothie ingredients ready to go or making overnight oats in advance makes mornings so much better. I also always set our coffee pot to a 6am timer so we wake up to the scent of fresh brewed coffee.

TWO // Take a minute every day to sort through important stuff

I have a bad habit of leaving mail unopened on the kitchen counter until the end of the week, which is more stressful than just tackling it each day. Now I make sure I just take a minute (60 seconds, people!) to open up my mail and tackle anything quick and important in the moment.

THREE // Declutter just one item each day

Haven’t quite KonMari’d your closet yet? Start by creating a little ‘donation corner’ and put just ONE ITEM every day in that pile and donate them all at the end of the week. Your closet will be more streamlined and getting dressed will be much easier.

FOUR // Make your bed

I’m a neat freak to begin with, but making the bed every morning makes me feel more organized and like the day has officially begun. It gives me a small sense of accomplishment and pride and ready to tackle the next item on the list.

FIVE // Hydrate your body and face

If I’m ever groggy from lack of sleep I’m sure to drink more water during the day and keep my Swell full of lemon water at my desk. I also take extra care of my skin and use this overnight resurfacing peel 3 times a week.

SIX // Set out your workout clothes the night before

If you have the intention of doing a morning work out, simply set out your clothes and sneakers the night before. I’m up at 5:30 for my 6am class on Thursdays and I just leave my yoga clothes next to my toothbrush in the bathroom.
