It has been a MINUTE (a year?!) since I did a Friday Favorites post, but it’s a series I want to bring back! A weekly series to share a random collection what I’ve been reading, watching, perusing, shopping for, etc., since it’s a true reflection of what’s been happening throughout my week. Plus, I love reading round-ups of little tidbits and articles that resonate with people.

This week still felt emotional and a bit heavy, but the amazing weather helped and the fact that positive actions and outcomes that are occurring in support of Black Lives Matter. Yes, more past wrongdoings have been unearthed, BUT that’s only leading to more actionable steps for a better future.

READ // I just downloaded and started reading White Fragility this week, which explores reactions that white people have when their assumptions are challenged. A New York Times Bestseller. Just started and excited to dive in more this weekend. What great books have you read recently?

SHOP // I’ve realized that although I have ordered some of my very favorite pieces from small businesses, that I’ve done a TERRIBLE job of sharing those small businesses on this blog. I’d like to get better and more consistent about sharing those! A few recent small business purchases – An adorable summer bead bracelet from ‘on the lookout’, a small shop I’ve loved since my Cleveland days! She has the cutest layering pieces and her next product drop is tomorrow, June 13^th!

Another small business favorite from Cleveland is Oceanne. I’ve been in her darling shop multiple times and recently purchased this dainty layering necklace.

I also ordered this Gorjana Parker necklace this week, a great layering piece to wear with a basic t-shirt. And I ordered some more face masks (FUN?!) from Everlane that benefit the ACLU since we’ll be wearing them for the foreseeable future.

This midi skirt was also a recent summer purchase. It’s under $40 and I liked that the longer layer is sheer over the shorter layer. Will share my review once it’s arrives!

WATCH // Zak and I started watching Insecure last week after multiple friends recommended it and it’s HILARIOUS. Issa Rae is such a great writer and actress. I feel like we’re late to the Insecure train, but now I’m blowing through it. Great balance of laugh out loud moments and real life relate-ability.
