It’s no secret I’ve struggled with my fair share of skin issues in my early thirties… Hormonal acne, eczema, wrinkle prevention. The great thing about opening up about my skin struggles on this blog space is the conversation and connection it’s created—because we ALL have things we’d like to improve with our skin, and it’s great to share what has worked for me.
2019 was a journey into cleaner skincare and beauty and learning how to prepare for potential skin flare ups. I was recently on a trip for work and could just feeeeel a pimple coming on. No surprise since travel and sleeping in hotels typically causes skin issues for me. Luckily, I had my Neutrogena Rapid Clear® Stubborn Acne Spot Gel in my purse to quickly treat the blemish. I remember, growing up, my Mom telling me to put toothpaste on a blemish in an emergency situation (anyone else??), but I did that once recently and it just irritated my skin even further! That’s why I also try to keep my tried-and-true products on hand.
I keep Neutrogena Rapid Clear® in my purse or toiletry bag on trips because it rapidly reduces the size and redness of stubborn acne in just TWO HOURS! I either dab a bit on the blemish under concealer during the day to reduce the size or spot treat before I go to bed. It’s formulated with maximum strength Benzoyl Peroxide, which is recommended by dermatologists, but you can get it at Target!
I’ve talked about my skincare travel tips before, but I always drink TONS of water on the road, avoid touching my face as much as possible, and stick with my usual skincare routine. I’ve gone as far as packing my own pillowcases in order to avoid a breakout! But if a pimple pops up on a trip and I don’t have my Neutrogena® with me, I’ll just run into a nearby Target and grab some to quickly squash it.
Do you have any go-to products you always travel with? I’d love to know!
