5 Random Things I’m Obsessed with this Summer

Hope your Fourth of July was stellar!  It was HOT here, approximately 158 degrees. Ok not really, it was 95 and humid but we were kind of dying. So, we went to the pool, watched fireworks, walked to the parade and then stayed in the air conditioning and ate popsicles.

Today I’m rounding up a little collection of things I’ve been loving, wearing on repeat or obsessing over this summer.  Do you have any of these items?  Any new-to-you things I should add to my list?

ONE // Glossier Lash Slick

I had a tried-and-true method and mascara combination to get the perfect lashes, but I ordered this on a whim because of the amazing reviews and inexpensive price tag.  It’s now my new favorite and makes my lashes look incredibly long even when I don’t have any other make-up on.  I used to combine 2-3 different types of mascara for length + volume, but I just use two swipes of Lash Slick and I’m good to go.

TWO // Levi’s Jacket

I purchased the Levi’s Trucker Jacket a few months ago and I wear it multiple times a week over a t-shirt dress to the office.  Our office is basically like a rainforest, it’s humid in some areas, hot in others and freezing in certain conference rooms.  Whyyyyy?  Anyway, this jean jacket looks effortlessly cool and seems to go with everything.

THREE // Invisible Hair Ties

The invisibobbles were originally purchased for yoga since they minimize hair breakage and don’t leave a big crease.  But, I also found they are great for sleeping when I don’t want to wash my hair the next day.  I just throw my hair into a ponytail on the top of my head because going to bed and my hair still feels fresh the next day without a big bump.

FOUR // Colorful YETI Cup

Random, but lemon and mint infused water is my summer obsession.  That and LaCroix, because I’m basic like everyone else and am addicted to LaCroix.  Anyway, I found a colorful, pretty YETI cup and fill it with cold lemon mint water for the day.  Hydrate, people!

FIVE // Everlane Day Market Tote

I waited three months (yes) while this bag was back-ordered and it.was.worth.it.  I love the rich cognac color and it fits my laptop, planner, wallet and all the things.  It’s pretty and sturdy and classy.  It was out of stock again for a bit, but happy to say it’s available again in multiple colors!  It’s a piece you’ll have forever.

  1. Do you like the Everlane tote better than the Madewell Transport?

    • Hi Amy-
Ahh, good question! I had my Madewell Transport Tote for years (and still have it and use it) but it was starting to look a bit ratty. So I switched it up with the Everlane Tote and to me it’s a bit more ‘professional’ looking than the Madewell one. And it’s wider and a bit more stiff. Hope that helps!

      • Yes, that helps. It looks absolutely gorgeous and, as I suspected, a bit more professional. I think I’ll go for it!

  2. Hey Jaclyn!

    Love your stuff. 🙂

Would you mind telling me where you got the scarf that you added to your Everlane bag? I am in love with it!

    • Hi Rebecca,
Of course! It’s from Madewell. I got it about 6 months ago, but they always have the prettiest silk scarf options!
