16 Thoughtful Gift Ideas for this Holiday Season

It’s two weeks before Thanksgiving and I’ve already started working my way down my holiday shopping list. If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s to expect shipping delays? Ha, there are far more important lessons from this wild year, but I mean, shipping delays are real. So, I wanted to share some of my favorite gifting ideas for the loved ones you’ll be celebrating with far and near this season.

I am very conscious about shopping with my heart this year… Not only with thoughtful gifts, but also also supporting small businesses. You’ll notice that nothing within this list is from Amazon, because I would rather have my dollars support the independent artists and small businesses that likely had a rough 2020. I hope this list inspires you to do the same!

Heads up – My favorite gifts are broken up into 3 sections. Small businesses, Under $50 and Under $100!

SMALL BUSINESSES

Silvertistic Nameplate Necklace // $25 – Etsy is ALWAYS a go-to for supporting independent artists. Zak got me this nameplate necklace earlier this year (at the start of quarantine to be exact) and I have received endless compliments on it. A great, customizable gift.

Double M Pottery // $48 – I got one of these mugs from a Laguna Beach artist and I’m oddly obsessed with it. It’s just the perfect weight, handle size to comfortably slip your hand in, feels so special and keeps my coffee warm. I may buy a couple for friends because this simple mug has brought so much delight to my morning coffee routine.

On the Lookout Bracelet // $55 – I wear this delicately hand-beaded bracelet nearly every day. You can sense the time that went into creating it and it goes perfectly with a stack of bangles. Love this tiny jewelry shop! (It’s also a great Black-owned business to support! She’s the coolest)

Blair Ritchey Zip Wallet // $98 – Blair is my friend back in Cleveland with the CUTEST shop you’ll ever see. She has been making (aka HAND STITCHING) leather goods for years and is an inspiration. I love her tiny zip wallets to throw in a credit card, cash, keys or chapstick.

UNDER $50

Nespresso Advent Calendar // $45 – If you have any friends or family with a Nespresso, this Advent calendar is genius! We ordered one for us (yay! So fun!) and a couple for friends. It’s the gift that keeps on giving every day of December.

Calpak Belt Bag // $45 – I’m shocked at the amount of times I wear my fanny pack (across my chest) throughout the week. Even if I just go on a walk, I usually bring my cards, keys, hand sanitizer, face mask, etc and the fanny pack trend is legit helpful. Handsfree!

Flannel Pajama Joggers // $49 – I always buy a new holiday PJ set before Christmas and these plaid joggers make such a great gift since we know the coming months will include some couch time and hibernation. There’s also a matching top!

Eye Masks + Face Mask + Mascara // $25 + $25 + $26 – I feel like this combo is the ideal trio of gifts for a girlfriend since eyes and eyebrows are all the people are going to see this winter. Practice your smizing!! I tried these gold eye masks myself and they are great. Very soothing and help get rid of undereye bags. Plus I’ve used this mascara for years. Both lengthens and thickens.

Sherpa Slippers // $45 – The ultimate working from home ‘shoe’. I just replaced my old slippers with these and they are so cozy! And my feet don’t get too sweaty. Gross.

Vintage Candy Land // $40 – If your friends are really over the 2020 puzzle scene, maybe give a board game a try?? Seems like something cute, mindless and nostalgic.

Capri Blue Candle // $32 – Always my favorite candle. I couldn’t love this piney scent more for the month of December. Such a festive touch for any space.

La Croix Cross-Stitch Kit // $19 – For the La Croix lover in your life (who isn’t??) this tiny cross-stitch kit seems like a relaxing winter at-home activity.

UNDER $100

Nespresso Frother // $99 – I’ve talked endlessly about making lattes at home this year and have stepped up my frothing game. You don’t need a Nespresso machine to use this frother and add frothy milk or oat milk to any coffee beverage in your own kitchen.

Sherpa Half-Zip Faux Leather Sweatshirt // $79 (but I’m sure it’ll go on sale!) – I got this sweatshirt a month ago and it is SO fuzzy and warm. Long enough to cover your bum if you’re wearing leggings and warm for working from home or a cold weekend hike!

Silk Face Mask // $55 – If you have any friends struggling with maskne (I’ve been breaking out on my cheeks more than usual), supposedly this silk mask helps with breakouts or skin irritations.

Parachute Cotton Cloud Robe // $99 – Zak and I got these for our anniversary this year (Year 2 = Cotton!) and I really love it. The cotton cloud is the perfect weight of a robe for me, since I usually end up SWEATING in a thicker robe when I go to blow dry my hair. This is the ideal level of comfort and warmth.
